I live in Savannah, Georgia with my wife and seven cats where I split my time between making drawings, paintings and prints and teaching printmaking and painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Much of my current work is affected by the mysterious, haunting low-country.
My work has been included in 27 solo exhibitions and in over 120 group exhibitions nationally and internationally. I have been awarded numerous grants and residencies, most recently having produced a series of paintings and drawings during a month-long awarded residency in Koli National Park in Finland. My work is included in a number of public and private collections, including the National Gallery in Washington DC and the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah Georgia. I was born and raised in and around Erie, Pennsylvania, growing up mostly in rural areas on farms, and made my way through the Midwest, attending the Columbus College of Art and Design, in Columbus, Ohio, where I received a BFA, and receiving an MFA from Northwestern University. For the past twenty years, I have resided in Savannah, Georgia with my wife and eight cats where I split my time between making drawings, paintings and prints and teaching printmaking and painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Much of my current work is affected by the mysterious, haunting Lowcountry.
