I am a self taught mono type printmaker from the Eastern Sierra. I love to make funky shapes with lots of color and see what happens on the paper. When I’m not making prints I love to spend time in nature skiing, hiking, backpacking, and in the ocean. I take what I learn from spending time outside back into my art practice.
I grew up in the Eastern Sierra and spent half of my time growing up by the mountains and half of it in Southern California by the ocean. That impacted the way I view the world around me; by being able to spend so much time in and by nature I have a deep appreciation of the lessons the natural world provides.
I started printmaking while living and going to school in Santa Barbara. I was fortunate to meet some extremely talented and passionate printmakers in a print making studio and fell in love with the art form of mono type printmaking. They taught me that printmaking is all about experimenting. I grew up around artists with different styles of expressions. That definitely influenced my natural draw towards learning new mediums to express myself and the how I view the world around me.
